Need some opinions on how far I should take this. Here are some before and after pics.

What I want to discuss is should I go ahead with my plan of getting all new nissan bolts for the oil pump and water pump, and new freeze plugs? I want it to look like a new sr not like I sprayed the motor with paint with out taking my time.

What I wanted to hear. Buddy's are telling me it looks "fine", but that isn't good enough.

go big or go home. Looks nice and clean now so why not take care of the rest and have it perfect

I too would get all new bolts. Mazworx sells a bolt package for the SR that includes what you listed and more.

yes get new bolts, if "fine" isnt good enough then why even ask what we think?

i plan on doing all of that with my LSx, not necessarily new bolts but it will likely be fully dissassembled, hot tanked etc. and every accessory powdercoated.

Replace all the external bolts with allen bolts, would look dope.

on a show car/trailer queen sure, impress the judges
on a car that is actually driven
it's great fun when you start accumulating dirt/grime inside the caps heads

You've done this much....might as well finsih it up right opposed to half assing it now.

Itll always be easier to work on a cleaner and done right engine, opposed to have just rigged it and thrown in there.
keep it up though looking good!

Btw, what kind of paint did you use? Is it the VHT wrinkle paint?

Paint for the vc is engine enamel then truck bed coating stuff (dries hard as a rock) and for the block I used vht aluminum caliper paint.
