So yesterday i was driving my s14 at an event and i spun out.
When i attempted to stop, i tried to turn and i felt a slipping and popping sound in my steering wheel. pushed on the gas and i still went straight so i popped my hood and had my friend turn the wheel then noticed that my steering joint was slipping and partially stripped the splines in the joint .
Measured my friends steering joint on his s14 and it was the same length as mine but it seems like my steering column is back more than his.
Is there any way to push the steering column into the engine bay so more of the splines will be in further into the joint piece because im getting a new joint and i dont want to strip it again.

If yours looks just like that, just think a minute about how you could do what you are trying to do??! Loosen both ends of the joint and slide/tap it (the joint) down, maybe

already been done, this is the only way you can drive it man otherewise there is not enough threads on the top. looks like the sttering shaft needs to be longer to me and we even removed it and reinstalled, same placement...

Are s13 ones shorter??? Maybe you measured wrong? Idk this is a good one, unless you really need to smack the shit out of this with a hammer lol ,maybe something is stuck in the gear like debris,so it wont let you insert it in all the way(that sounds sexy)

Haha I've taken it off, measured a few times and the s13's are the same length from what i can tell.if the joint slides in any direction it slides further off the seering rack/column. i've removed the column and reinstalled on my kouki and didn't run into this issue. its pretty simple so im like WTF!!!

Got to messing around with it and i accidentally hammered the entire shaft out lol so if anyone runs into this problem make sure you have the joint on the steering column shaft only and hammer in whatever directon you need it to go. pretty simple i think...
