Hey everyone, I'm considering doing an S15 SR swap with an S13/S14 SR Trans.
Does anyone have first hand experience doing this?
What complications are there if any?
My main concern is from the S15 6MT sticky where it says the pilot bushing is located in the 6MT Flywheel as opposed to the S13/S14 SR engine. My other concern is this:
"The amount of work it would take to re-center the input shaft of the 6MT to a KA engine... is just too much to bother."
I know you can put a KA trans. on an S13/S14 SR with an SR bellhousing on the KA Trans., So would the input shaft on the S13/S14 SR trans. also not line up to the S15 SR?
Resources about doing this S13/S14 SR trans to S15 SR engine would be awesome if you could cite them.
Thanks!

Nothing wrong with a six speed,i had3 s15's ,2 were six speed, one 5speed,for whatever reason you want to use the 5 speed a sr 5 speed tranny is a direct bolt on ,(had this on my third s15)youll need a new pilot bushing, and a non 6 speed flywheel and clutch setup and the 5speed SR tranny bolts as they are different lenghts.and the driveshaft to go with your car
Like the sticky says, anyone who hasnt had one or experienced one needs to stop saying theyre weak
That sticky is good for 6 speed info.i was using the s15 stock driveshaft on my s14with s15 differential on one, a z32 diff on the other, one thing I will say is the 6speed does not like aggresive clutches.... in the end,its a simple tranny swap with parts listed above

Are the flywheel bolts the same?
Thank you for the answers!

Found this interesting tid-bit. Keep in mind this is for the 5 speed in an S15, so some parts are necessary.

yea its pretty much whats in the sticky and what I said, except the cutting trim since you dont have to do that in your s14, as he was reffering to his actualy s15 vehicle as you stated.:2f2f:
if you plan on going 5 speed, why not just get the s14 SR20det zenki or kouki? it will cost you less, comes with the 5 speed tranny.and its pretty much the same thing other than you can say," I have a Spec-R" lol, by the way that I loved saying........ so other than small minor mechanical details. putting it in a short way, the ecu makes it to 250hp, and the s14 makes the 220hp, so its just the factory tune that makes it bump HP to 250(yes i know, turbo, injectors coilpacks etc are different).getting an aftermarket computer on the s14 would be the same thing if you would upgrade your s15 ecu(and aftermarket supporting parts to go with ECU).basically, yes, same motor for less but no 6 speed.
so after I had my s15's, i was like damn, s14's are the same shit lol:picardfp:
but if your gonna keep it stock, the s15 6 speed tranny with the supporting s15 helical differential kick ass!!! loved the gearing on that thing!!loved how the S15 turbo spooled.:bigok:

I just put it all together and got it in my car. You need the s14 fw, FW bolts, clutch, and s14 trans bolts to make it all bolt up. Everything else is the same as any ol' SR swap.
