EDIT: I get a few messages a year on this so I'm adding the solution to this thread:

It was a REALLY hard to find vac leak. One of the screws holding the throttle body butterfly had broken off and air was leaking through the hole. We found the throttle cable is shorter for the KA and when you go WOT on an SR swap, it's fully open a few inches before you actually hit the pedal to the floor, so you add extra tension on the throttle body that eventually wears out that screw on the closer end to the throttle cable. I just bought a new throttle body, and put a plastic block on the floor that stopped the pedal at WOT so it didn't happen again. The relay clicking and EAI light blinking went away when I did all that.

I have a surging idle, and had a clicking noise. I narrowed the clicking down to coming from this, and the boost control solenoid:

the two vacuum nipples were just looped to connect to eachother. I unplugged the connector to it and the boost control solenoid and they stopped clicking, but my idle still surges. I looked at my PowerFC sensor screen and the "EAI" light blinks each time the idle surges, so that must be the culprit.

I know EAI is the Japanese equiavalent for AIV, so I searched around for that and discovered it's my emissions equipment - which I'm 99% sure has been deleted fully and blocked off. So now I'm confused... Anyone have any insight or ideas? Things to try?

Thanks!

I see why it surges, the throttle is closed and so the TPS sensor reads "closed position"... When the RPM goes high enough, to a specific number, it cuts the fuel (thats why the wideband goes lean). This is defined in the power FC as a "fuel cut RPM"- its there for when you lift your foot off the gas to cut all fuel from the engine until it goes below that specific RPM. I do not remember if you can access that setting from the hand-held commander. If you wish to verify my diagnosis, remove the tps from the throttle body and move it so the ECU thinks the throttle is open slightly. The engine should revv freely then without surging- because it will think you are stepping on the gas. Unplugging it might also work (for diagnosis), but I am not sure.

but regardless, thats not the real problem. The real problem is that you have a high idle. Air is entering your engine somewhere that it should not be. Check the IACV, Throttle body, vacuum hoses, check for mistakes and leaks such as vacuum leaks, bent or jammed open throttle body, a stuck open IACV, etc...

Find your air-leak and the idle will settle down.
