Bizarre dome light s14

Someone please help me figure this out. For some reason my dome light is acting weird. It wont't turn on when in the ON position. If I switch it to the DOOR position it'll only turn on when the doors are closed! If I open either one it'll turn off. The door ajar light appears to be working properly, meaning it'll only light up when a door is opened. Only question I have about that is, should it light up if the car is not on? Cause it only appears if the car is on.

something is wrong with you wiring. and to answer your question, yes it should light up even if the car is off and doors are open.

Have you checked the harness going into your smart entrance control unit?

Have you clapped your hands twice, not once? Maybe try tapping your heels

check your ground for the lights! a loose or bad ground will make your car do funny things! hope that helps.

Take the bulb out throw a flash light in your center console and DONE!!!
