Not worth it, the T25 that is.
However, i'm going to be running a Z31 turbo. T3 exhaust flange and relatively good size compressor housing too, not sure what size. And the sweetest part of it all.......... $39 at the local Pick-n-Pull. I'm shooting for under $1500 for a v mount IC KAT setup. we'll see how it goes.
The other thing about running a T25 is that there is only one company i know of that will make a manifold with that flange.

T25 was a crappy OEM turbo that you can find for nothing cause they are not worth anything. Don't waste your time/money on them. Find a T3 or T4 and use that.

don't flame for asking this folks because i don't know much about turbo beside the basics and still learning....but since you guys are talking about using a t3.....is it possible to upgrade to it from the t25 on the stock sr20det......will a new manifold be needed for the flange?

I'm using twin t25 turbine / t3 hybrids on a ka... but haven't set it up yet. should be a real laggy bitch motor.
who knows.
the T25 and its variants are great turbos, clear up to the mighty garrett GT versions and the GT25R, etc...
they will support over 400 hp.
And they spool up fast.

GT25R? if i get that do i need to get diff manifold?? flang that fits GT25R !
i mean whats the diff. i assuming it is much powerful than simple t25

they are all T25 flanges, that is what makes them a T25...
it will fit the stock sr manifold, but it might be restrictive at that power point.. you will defintely need a turbo elbow and shizzle.
the difference is that its got bigger wheels and modern aerodynamics, ball bearing internals, I dunno what all... its just a modern turbo that takes advantage of newer technology.

not a t25 and therefore has no relevance in this conversation.
btw any T25 is rather smallish for a ka24... the larger GT variants might work, I know someone who was running garrett GT 30 series...

It all really depends on how much money u have to spend and how much horsepower you want to make, if you get a free t25 and dont care that its only good for a few extra horsepower than use it, but if your gonna buy one, and want to make lots of power in the long run, get something bigger, IMO its a waste of time and money to use a small one first if your gonna get a bigger one in a few months.
