I have an s13 hatch with an sr in it, car is a 92 dohc originally.. since ive had the car i noticed in the cold weather the headlights wouldnt pop up... id have to switch the light switch numerous amounts of times for them to pop up, and just sometimes theyd pop right up or wouldnt at all and id manually turn the knob in the engine bay to get the lights up. Also the windshield wipers sometime get stuck on and wont shut off. So far ive replaces the whole engine bay harness from a nother s13 working car along with relays. The car still has a light problem, now there even worse n wont even go down or nothing and the pass side stays half way up? My next thing to do is replace the motors and switch by the steering wheel. Any input on this? If i replace all that and its still messed up im up sh*ts creek lol.

This is normal. That's why there is a headlight retractor switch inside the car to keep your popups "up" during the winter time.

Retractor switch? Where is that? The big button on the left side of the bezel up top? That don't seem to work either.

Yes, that's the correct button. When you push it, it keeps your headlights up all the time regardless if they are off/on.

so that`s what that is for.i have always wondered why there is a separate switch for the headlight motors. hmm, learn something new everyday. so, the motors freezing in cold weather is normal? i don`t have that problem, but my motors' are all worn out, make the headlights vibrate, pissing people off in front of me.

Looks like you have solved your own problem then. It's either the switch itself or the wiring. Grab an FSM and have fun.

I grabbed the big button for the lights out of a working car... and nothing.

Also previously we swapped the bay harness...

And, Put a new connector (the one behind the pocket din) and nothing...

I took a video of exactly what it does when turning on the headlights.. Now that its warmer today during the day it goes up and down almost everytime, last night when it was cold did absolutley nothing and just stould down and would not come up at all. I had to get out and get them up by twisting the knob.

In the video you can hear me twist the switch and theres a delay in the lights.. sometimes they work sometimes not??

Check all the relays involved with the headlights. Swap in some known working ones. Read the FSM, check all the wiring.
