what do you mean the latch part? the part that secures the door to the body? i.e. will the door still close, or does it have to be completely repaired.

not the door handle, the actual latch portion where it meets the striker. the door currently would have nothing to hold it closed. i'll try to get photos up later today. best bet would be to cut out the latch portion from a stock metal door, then just rivet the two together.
