Datsun 510 with a KA24DE heart

Just wanted to share this classic Datsun with my fellow S chassis enthusiast.

A new EFI set up and some boost will be added in the near future :)

what kind of work was done to the motor?
what range are the carbs tuned for?
dyno sheet?
does it even run?

I'll have to see if the dyno sheet from the carb setup is floating around somewhere. I can tell you there will most definitely be a couple dyno sheets from the new EFI/turbo set up. Wonder how the little R180 dif will handle 400+ torque though...

Here is some more info on the car guys, the car is mine. I have a dyno sheet laying around somewhere but it put down 135tq and 130whp. That was after the motor had been used for 3 full seasons of autox so I am sure it had a bit more in the beginning. The engine setup is using twin 45mm Webers and the engine is a rebuilt stock block with ported heads and some Delta camshafts. The car was built a few years ago to be used as a fun street car and every autocross it could make it to. It will be all torn apart and fully rebuilt in the near future, fuel injected and turbod.

It is stored up for winter at the moment so I won't be able to get any more good clean pictures, but I will scrounge for some I know I have on a hard drive back home soon!

I'm leaning towards a mid frame gt series, would be a nice match with a fat power band!

Probably somewhere around a gt28 or 30. Potentially when the borg warner efr turbos are available again one of them? Got a lot to figure out before then. Most likely the car is going to go through a full tear down and rebuild. Fix some rust in some critical areas and just do some different things on the 510 that I have always wanted to do that would require it being repainted anyway soo ha yeah its one of those projects! Surely will keep the post updated as progress is made.

Retro cars/builds such as the 510 are currently some of my favorite automobiles. Love the old school mixed with the new technology, track car or daily driver so long as they get driven!
