Has anybody seen or used a set before? They're pretty pricey but look to be a quality part. I ran across their ad while flipping through an Import Tuner at the airport and thought it was pretty cool that they offer low pressure shocks for carbon or FRP hoods. Sure beats a hood prop.

circuit sports and tien offer hood dampers for less then half the price of those. they are not as beefy as the one you are talking about, and the fit is horrible from what i hear.

yeah but these are built into the hinge and dont take up space when youre leaning into the bay to do something

just bend your hinge so the hood leans all the way back on the windshield and put a rag under it so it doesnt scratch.

These are supposed to be pretty nice too. Much better than the circuit sports ones.

I've already ground the stop off mine so I can rotate the hood straight up but I was wanting something to hold it there. I was looking at a factory Datsun 510 prop for idea's; if you've seen one then you know what I'm talking about but like I said ran across these thumbing through the pages.

Maybe they'll just sell the shocks for the carbon application and I can affix them to a stock hinge. These looks solid, don't get me wrong but damn, a part I'd rather someone give me as a gift rather than purchase myself.

Those look like a good alternative but man, I'd really love for it to hold it completely upright. I sent 310 an email asking about the end angle. I'll see what they say for shits and giggle.s.

I've looked at them too. I want to do away with the damn hood prop, but can't stand the cheap shit shock kits that are made and this seems to be the only other viable option. I planned on picking a set of them up after the New Year, once the bay has been painted.

I've had the Circuit Sports kit for a while now on an OEM hood and they work fine. I don't know if they made ones for CF or FB hoods.

This is what I did to make my hood stay up without touching the windshield. Cheap and silly, but it works. :)

shit is legit, I have seen them on a few cars, and they work great. You release the hood latch and the hinges are strong enough to lift the whole hood up. I actually have a set that i am supposed to put on my new hood when I get it. currently still have a fed up front end.

That's one idea but what if a gust of wind blows against the back side of the hood. Hell mine will basically rest at vertical but just about anything will blow it closed. I don't want my hood falling that far; lol.

ya? I never noticed them in his build. Let's see if they are and if he'll comment.
