curious about the coil on plug deal,i see alot of guys running gm coils or motorcylce (cbr i think) but you have to run stand alone....my question is y cant you use c.o.p on the s14 ka ecu or possibly use the sr ecu to run/control it on your ka?what stops people from using the sr ecu to control the ka or at least modify the s14ka ecu so you can run the c.o.p with out having to go standalone or some kind of ignition controler??i see aem had a 4 channel coil driver that would/should work for the ka so u can run c.o.p.. electronic guru's please chim in

Yeah. I was wondering this two or three days ago. YES.
You have to mod your dizzy to work like a cas with your management.
SR coils wont work from what i've been reading. Did see a setup using passport coil on plug. You'll want to learn the wiring for whatever it is you are using. As long as you know the input/output function of everything it shouldn't be that hard. Online fsm's will be your friend for this. And obviously you'll know the pins and signal voltage on your stand alone.
It's no big deal really.
IIRC, KA-T.org has a good read on ls1 coils i suggest you hit up when you have time.

KA-T.org - The Home of 1000+ whp/7 sec Turbo KA's (http://www.ka-t.org). Start doing some reading and pm'ing.
Because the next step asking questions like that is either you trying it yourself and blowing your shit up then crying then part out thread or going to someone who knows both engines down pat and having them set you up right.
Either way, you WILL need an ecu tune. There is no corner-cutting here.
The AEM FIC is $400.
Yet you dont want to go stand alone.......... ok...
