SR20 Stroker Cranks

There are a few companies that sell stroker cranks and below is a listing of those few:

Mazworx
Brian Crower
HKS
Tomei
K1 Industries

Those are just the few that I have read about.

Well there is a few vendors that sell stroker cranks on ebay does anybody have any experience or feedback on them?

Which is a 91mm stroker crank.

Also, what prevents the SR20det from using the 92mm stroker crank vs the 91mm?

Just looking for some answers that I have looked on several forums for but have not seen a solid one yet!

I know the SR20ve guys use the 92mm crank in their NA builds but haven't heard or seen a rwd det guy use it.

The bore on 92mm is too big, the headgasket between the cylinders is too small causing them to blow out easily.

For the ebay crank, i dont know to me its looks nice but the lack of information about it is what word worry me.

I was asking more so on a stroke of 92mm and not a bore of 92mm.

I agree on the limited information, which is why I posted the thread hoping others will chime in as they see it.

The SR20 has a rather poor rod ratio of 1.58:1 with the stock stroke. Lengthening the stroke only makes this worse. But if you're really dead set on it, Mazworx makes a 92mm crank.

I don't like Brian Crower or K1 industries for their poor machining reputations. Any of the other brands should be fine.

Do you really want to buy something as important as a crankshaft from EBay? Saving money is nice but personally id rather know that my engine is going to work properly than guess if it is.

I really was only looking for a consensus on the products used above from the many vendors I listed. Nowhere did I STATE that I would even use a EBAY CRANK, especially considering the companies that are selling them aren't reputable brands. With that being said, the company at the top of my list to use is either the following:

Brian Crower 91mm

or

Mazworx 91mm


What are the poor machining practices people speak of when it comes to K1 or BC? I've never heard anything bad about neither and the machine shop that I plan on sending my block to uses a lot of k1 domestic products. All machine shops aren't created equal but, this machine shop in particular finished in the top 3 in this years Engine Masters for those who are familiar with the competition.

K1 rods have bushing pound out problems. They're also made in China like Eagle.

BC's have poor finish sometimes, and they can't get the KA's crank right.

Go Mazworx, you won't regret it.

The goal of this thread is to really give people more insight into the options available when it comes to purchasing a stroker crank for a SR.

Now, i'm still looking for some more information regarding the inability to use a 92mm crank not 91 or 92mm bore. I understand the capabilities when it comes to boring a block, your limited to the bore size and or sleeve. Also, is there a way to remedy the poor rod ratio that the SR has? What makes the rod ratio poor is it too short or too long? Read on Q-moto where they used a H22 oem rod due to its longer length then the oem SR rod.

The rods are too short. Longer rods are the answer, yes. You would need shorter rods in a stroker situation. The alternative would be custom pistons that move the pin bushing up so you can keep the stock rod length.

Mazworx makes a 92mm crank. It will fit and function just fine.
