It'll be two more paychecks. One month. Then I'm gonna get the cam from Colt Cams in British Columbia. Still planning on a regrind, unless the write me back and tell me I can get a brand spankin' new cam. THAT should lower the 0-60 and 1/4 mile time.

what made you decide to go with the colt cams? im not to smart when it comes to the specs. of cams. the reason im asking is because i have a pair of GUDE cams with intake/exaust of .420 & duration of .226 they are not installed but i was worried about how they would be as a daily driver and if they would meet smog in CA. if not i guess colt for me as well. in. 379/ex 384-duration in. 219/ex 221. i drove a car that had gude installed and it was a huge differance. thats what sold me. any one please help!

On Don's behalf, I think he has been super busy opening his official shop. I just made the correlation after talking to him, and figured what the ####, I'll check out the shop directly. I think it is a bit more. Don quoted me 150 bucks for the regrind, whereas the shop charges 225 for the one I'm looking at. However, it's worth it to me to not involve two people. And yes, Don Nimi wasn't contacting me either, which led to me to the direct jump to coltcam.com. Plus, Geoff at Colt Cams has been very helpful, and so far has entertained my analness when it comes to knowing everything about trying new stuff. I had him fax me the specs on what to grind before installing the cam. Still was unsure, so I sent him an email earlier today. Direct link is here. http://dana.ucc.nau.edu/~mka/cam.htm

The only other reason is they are the only place I've heard of that actually screw with the truck KA cam, and plus I like the pacific northwest, being from Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. I've talked to Geoff over the phone, and he has installed cams on a guy's auto Nissan pickup who lives in the BC area. So far, they seem the most knowledgable, and quite eager to please. I would call them if you're thinking about a cam. They have an email form on their website, as well.

well don contacted me, he was very prompt on the emails, we emailed each other back and forth about three times. but on the last email i sent, i told him how my shop wanted 400 to install the cam and i need his advice on how long it should take, and what they should do to speed it up, yet get it right, and how hard the install really was. basically in the email i first typed several sentences then at the end of the paragragh i said, "who should the money order be made out to?"

he replied to my email with only the money question, so it made it seem he only cared about the money part and not about the customer. and i thought someone like that didn't derserve my money. i'll buy from colt cams directly.

I just got an email back from Geoff, clarifying exactly what I needed to know. A very nice email, I might add, without a hint of impatience, though I've already grilled him for weeks on every possible aspect of changing out the cam. I'm definitely going to get the cam from him, and I suggest anyone else looking for cams to deal with Colt Cams directly.
