1. Car starts RIGHT UP when cold. Once warmed up, the car will not start no matter how much I crank it. I was able to pop start it, but even that took a while to work. This is REALLY FRUSTRATING. HELP!?
2. the SR ECU I have (ECU # 62) does NOT have a little red bulb inside to check the CEL. I took the top off, and there is literally NO BULB. Suggestions?
Thanks guys

Car has brand new Walbro fuel pump, newer fuel filter. Doubt its related to fuel pressure. Not to mention, fuel pressure doesn't really have anything to do with engine temp(car ONLY has problems starting once warmed up. Starts right up when cold). Thanks though.

Actually it is a possibility... My car had a fuel pump problem ....when I'd first start it while cold, it'd run fine but start till a several minutes, stumble then it would die, after an hour it would fire up and do the same thing of running fine, start to stumble then dying after a several minutes did this for months till I got advice to replace the pump, did that and vuala... Just because it has new parts, don't automatically take that out of the equation

The pump is working fine. Same issue as before with new pump. The car does not stumble out, loose power, or die. It simply wont re-start once warmed up.

Sr and KA share the same two prong ECU temp sensors, right?
Anyway to test the sensor? I've got a lot of em sitting around.

94 Sentra SER with the SR20DE, I dont think the KA one works not sure.
Refer to the FSM for testing

Here is what you do, warm the car til it dies, go under the hood disconnect the plug for you CTS and go to start the car, if it starts right up BAM! it's your temp sensor.

1. Thanks for the reply!!!!
2. What is CTS? Also, the car doesn't die on its own. It just wont restart AFTER its warm and I turn it off myself.
3. Can I just weld a new led in the ECU? Why would anyone ever remove it?

Coolant temperature sensor. That's what it sounds like reading your first post. Grab one from autozone from a 94 sentra ser, make sure its the 2 prong ecu sensor.

That is a 62 blacktop ecu. There is no diagnostic lamp on it from the factory. Blacktops were made to use the OEM consult port for diagnostics. I believe you can look up how to wire it up to blink on your CEL in your guage cluster. Otherwise there is no way to pull codes from that ECU.

Thank you for your knowledgable reply. I've been researching this ECU and I'm getting mixed answers. Most say its from a redtop sr20det, then a few say its from a blacktop.... Everybody says the E5 and 62 ECUs are interchangeable. What I dont get is.... How does everyone that switched from the E5 (with the internal CEL bulb) check their check engine lights when switching to the 62 ECU that DOESNT have the CEL bulb in the ECU? I've searched the shit out of this and cant find any answers.....
Re: temp sensor research.....
From my research, sr and KA share the same 2 prong sensor. However, there are 2 different sensors, depending on the year. I'm currently using the square two prong ETC which is good on all sr engines through 96 according to frsport. Just making sure I'm using the right sensor to start with. Here is the link showing that KA and SR share the same sensor, as long as you have the right rear.

What I dont understand is why my sr20det REDTOP came with the ROUND 2 prong sensor (from newer cars) and NOT the square one shown above. I changed it out for the square one(same as above in the link) from a s13 KA, but now I'm wondering why the motor even came with a newer sensor. The sensor that came on the motor is this one... http://www.frsport.com/Nissan-OEM-ECU-Temperature-Sensor-RB25-RB26-SR20-KA24DE--Round-Type-_p_12663.html
