SOHC powa :)

SOHCs respond better to NA mods. There is prolly some rules on Swaps too.

It would be very foolhardy to try and knock a 2200lb tube chassis race car, SOHC or not.

The motor makes mid 200's iirc

BTW, did anyone catch the SCCA Run-Offs earlier today on the Speed channel? s13 240sx's came in 1st AND 2nd in GT3!!

i wasnt knocking sohc at all, i was trying to figure out why they put a sohc into a s14, when all s14s came with dohc...

it may have been all that was legal for that class when the car was built. like possibly (just as an example, not an actual rule that i know of) motors less than 2.0 could be DOHC and anything over 2.0 had to be SOHC or something to that nature. SCCA has a lot of rules to keep it competitive for everyone.

oh sweet, where do you get those fiber glass body parts? Thatd be sweet to get a whole front end like like that, cuz my whole front end is wrecked. thatd prolly be cheaper than buying oem parts.

seriously doubt youre gonna be able to find that anywhere. i know theyre available for hondas, but most likely not 240's. maybe in japan?? and get it imported.

Yeah...great stuff. The bodies looked SOO light on those cars.

Nasport 240's are required to use ka24e, these are usually pushing upwards of 300hp. they use stock stroke length and bore.

I knew of a full gt3 shell kit for sale, was a while back. only wanted 500 bucks for all the peices.

You can easily build a hybrid ka in any bore/stroke combination you could think of 2.0-2.5l (few 2.6's around). both long and short stroke combos.

Don't get Bill off on the SOHC. This thread will be like 3 pages long.

OH.. gotcha.

{sarcasm}..amazing how a race car needs Mikuni's, custom intake plenum, custom headers, and direct fire ignition to produce that power.... {/sarcasm}
