Hi, just in the middle of a clutch job, I've got the tranny out and all now I need to know if the throw out bearing is gone ?
My kit was suposed to come with a throwout bearing but apparently it doesn't?
Its an exedy single hyper , clutch/pressureplate/flywheel all included in the set.
So basically, should oem nissan bearings work ? for a KA or a front wheel drive sentra? Where would I go about finding the throwout bearing and what part number or vehicle is compatible?
same question for the pilot bearing? can you give me some more info on where that is and what it does ?
The last question, is my bearing out I think i'd be smart to replace it anyhow.

whoa, you got a flywheel with your clutch kit? is it lik a $700 clutch kit?
anyways, i ordered a spec stage 3 kit and it came w/ pressure plate, clutch disk, and throwout bearing. no pilot bearing, but it cost $2 at a local autoparts store. (and its a bitch to take out, the pilot was the hardest thing to replace)
when i looked at the throwout bearing the spec kit came with, it looked exactly like the throwout bearing i replaced from my car. didn't know if its an throwout bearing on my car because im not hte first owner, but the clutch in the car looked stock. the throwout bearing was exactly the same w/ the same #s and markings as the spec one. im pretty sure you can use an oem throwout bearing, but call exedy and ask for sure because different pressure plate assemblies may require certain throwout bearing types.

I am also in the same situation regarding the exedy hyper single clutch kit. I emailed prostreetonline.com and they told me that the kit is NOT supposed to come with a clutch release bearing. But I also read online somewhere that if you change any of the SR20det clutches to PUSH type, then you have to change the release bearing to the corresponding type as well. It would be great if anyone had any info on this...

Whats the best way to get out the pilot bearing? Last time I replaced my clutch, I just left it in cause it was such a PITA.
Haha i spent an hour trying to get the old pilot bearing out of my sr. There's a special tool i heard. I left the old bearing in there in the end though.

Ok I found out what is going on with the Exedy Hyper Single Clutch kit. Firstly here is the webpage where I got all my information. Browse around and there are several links with different .pdf documents and such that have info on alot of exedy clutches:
www.daikin-clutch.com
So I called the office in Bellville, MI and got a hold of a tech support guy there. I asked him about the NH01SD (Silvia S13/14 sr20det) exedy hyper kit, and he said that the kit DOES NOT come with a release bearing or carrier, and it should not. If it did, the company you ordered the kit from added the bearing/carrier itself. Secondly he said that the OEM release bearing and carrier can be used with the kit. This is good news, except I still cant get anyone to verify that the US ka24de OEM clutch release bearing and the JDM sr20det OEM clutch release bearing are the same. If anyone has any info on this it would be appreciated. And please dont say " your x % sure," because I have searched the forums and found quotes like these, and I wouldn't consider that a definitive source.

special tool is: bending a piece of coat hanger or other reasonably strong wire into a L shaped hook and pulling the pilot bearing out. takes half a minute.

S14 KA TOB will work with SR. ACT clutches uses Z32 TOBs. So I guess its up to you. Difference with the KA and Z32 one is that Z32 is a bit thicker/taller than KA one. Im running a Z32 one on my SR and it works fine, just had to adjust the pedal a bit since its all the way on top.
