Okay, so I know the dohc head is a bolt on to the sohc block with a slight modification to the timing chain cover i believe.

Now my question is, has anyone else actually done this and got it running. what do you think the actually hp figures on this would be considering, i heard the compression jumps to 11.2:1 or 11.7:1

what do you mean it isn't true?
don't start that shit again, I'm sick of it
too many people say shit isn't true just cause they haven't done it.
people HAVE bolted dohc heads up to a sohc block.
I've seen pictures...

ugh, I guess i'll have to do it myself and see if it runs. I keep searching and i find people who "say" they have friends who did it, or did it themselves but didn't put it in there daily driver  So i'm just going to do this myself, and see the end result, if it runs, power it puts out and so on.

I have a sohc in my car and a dohc extra but I'm not gonna pull the head just to prove you wrong...
I've seen pictures from somene that did it, many high quality pictures detailing everything.

It has been done, no more argument, requires timing cover modification yes. The real advantage with this development is the ka24de head can be used on z block (many bore/stroke options). This was done by smug510 on nico, not freshalloy btw.

The fwd de head is actually a better canditate for this swap. Because the upper cover is not as far off from ka24e and z's. This requires filling the hole for the old dist, running a E, z or l distributor, and modifying the water neck (it will come out on other side btw, above the distributor). The intake system cannot be used, anyone trying to fully utilize the possibilities of this swap will be using ITB or carb setup anyways.

I have this head on my KA2.2 (z block) now but im going back to e head because imho when ported is better suited for my setup.

note: when doing this on z block with z/l type crank a custom lower timing gear must be made
