The 4D34 is a tough diesel motor found in the Mitsu Fuso cabover trucks. A 3.9 liter 4 banger with about 150 hp and nearly 300 lb of torque.

Well the transmission in these are real beefy and awesome also.

I want this for my other project car, I currently daily a rb25 s13 but i want my other project a diesel.

It has a baby Garrett snail i believe but i have searched everywhere about upgrades for this beautiful diesel powertrain and found nothing.

What do people think about this motor, anyone who deals with commercial trucks know what the limits on this little guy would be? It would be very ideal to crank out a 35% power increase or so. I am just wondering what the internals would handle, fuel and mapping could be worked out no prob.

Question is, what chassis are you thinking of slapping this engine in? I don't see how this is gonna be fun tho, considering it wont have any revs.

lol i lied about the s14, that wouldnt be any fun i dont think. The engine swap has been done in land cruisers though which i plan on acquiring pretty soon which could prove to be worth the effort.

I have found a couple of sites selling turbo kits for these engines but no real info on any forums about it and their reliability afterwords

everyone knows the audi le mans car is diesel and is always finishing in the top. Zilvia needs to come up with a diesel solution for our Nissans

And big block duramax v-8 is not the solution

Shit, I'd stick this engine into a Jimny...errr...Samurai for the USDM folks.
