HRm... my auto teacher told me this when i was in HS... Blackish smoke means your burning oil, White smoke means your burning coolent, so it could be a possibility you have a coolent leak somewhere... but im really not sure..

Dunno if your problem is serious or not since i dont have SR.. sorry!

HAHAHA i thought this was a thread about cigarette smoking.

oh yeah and white smoke is most likely a blown head gasket.

black is fuel, sweet and white is coolent, blueish is oil (might have white and blue backwards, ive never had a problem with either).

my guess is you haven't had your car tuned yet. it's probably just running rich

well first you need a means of tuning it (safc sounds like it would be best, that's what I'm using), then you need to find a place around there that has a dyno and can do it for you. unless you want to shell out the money for a wideband you need to get it tuned by someone else.
mine never beltched smoke (redtop running for a few weeks, getting tuned next week), but my friend's ca did like crazy when he would pin it then let off.
btw, are you running an atmospheric bov?
