I purchased a s14 not to long ago and im just not getting around to working on it and im having a little trouble with it. It starts up great and runs and idles perfect everything looks and sounds good. when idle it doesn't smoke to much at all but when i rev it up or drive it smokes out the side of the manifold i cant tell where from the side its coming out but it looks like there... gaskets are fine and its torqued down correctly but still smokes. i don't get anything on my temp meter it stays alil under middle and my check engine light comes on an off but when i had checked the computer it said everything was fine. also when i bought the car he had some extra shit like an extra exhaust manifold in the trunk which i figured was the bad one so i went ahead and switched them out but still the same problem. i don't know if im missing something or the blocks bad but it looks fine and isn't worn out at all engine has around 100k on it. im still learning about these motors so i dont know to much but thats why im here to get advice from the pros! im also located in the 951 riverside area if anyone out there wants to come by and look at it and give me a price on cost if they could fix it ill gladly pay! just pm me! thanks!
oh and its oil burning not coolant. checked my oil and its clean as well.

Okay well I'll be the one the state/ask the obvious. You've tried two manifolds and the same thing happens. Have you inspected the manifolds for cracks?
When you say it "smokes from the side", where exactly on the manifold? Right at the head/manifold interface? Somewhere else on the manifold/further down?
Video? Picture? More info?

there both uncracked and it looks like its smoking from the where the manifold connects to the engine. i figured i had 2 cause one might be warped or something maybe they both are. so yeah from what i can see right at the head. i can post a video today or tomorrow to show more its hard to explain but the smoke isn't heavy but if i drive it around the block and park it smokes then stops until i rev it up again.
thanks for the response!

Any oil leaks on that side? You may have a bad valve cover gasket and it's dripping down the side of the head and burning once it hits the manifold...
PCV system in good standing? Could be blowing oil out of your dipstick hole? Just throwing ideas out there, lol...

So yeah it was old oil on the side of the block from the bad gasket before I replaced it. Got down some serious engine cleaning and now she's looking good =]
