LAZER RED 240

we are unable to get switched power to the fuel pump. All the wires are spliced per every written work know to sr-man. We have tried to trouble shoot using 89 factory shop manual. I have continuity in allof the correct places, front to back. I also noticed the ECI relay, next to the fuel pump relay is warm to the touch?? I think my only next step is to evaluate the connections at the ECU, just to confirm continuity and proper locations. The ECU, wiring harness are all from a complete front clip. Th engine actually ran for 4-5 seconds untill the fuel in the fuel rails ran out, and the engine raced because we still had the throttle cable unchanged and it was about 1/4 open. Ran good though. Any suggestions?
