so i went and looked at a s14 today, it ran pretty well but the guy said it had a cel for a knock sensor and the powersteering fluid was bubbling. Is that normal? Is a knock sensor an easy fix?

That seems like a fair price! I'd buy it.

PS isnt bled properly or he may have been one of the idiots who put PS fluid in instead of ATF.
You should look around I picked up a 92 Hatch with 120K on it for 600 bucks. Just keep looking.
Buying advice, look for frame damage, rust, abuse ( every 17yr old thinks there a drifter so look at the tire tread subframe, bushings ) just look for the common things you would on any used car. TRY to find a unmolested stock car buying someone elses project will just end up as a money pit.

Also if your gut doesn't feel right about a deal.. trust your gut... don't just buy a 240 just cause you have to have one or want one sooooo bad.. the right deal will come and when it does you will feel relieved you waited.

Sometimes the CEL is on for different reasons it may have more problems. I think you can find one way better.
