Search man, this has been covered a million times. There are plenty of people on here running topmount including myself. EVERYTHING depends on the turbo you are running. You can tune whatever engine management setup you decide to drop money on. Rom Tunes - Standalones all will work just as they would on a bottom mount.

It comes down to money man...The sky is the limit depending on how much you want to spend.

For reference, I run a precision 50 trim (oil cooled only, no water lines), peakboost topmount, EWG, Enthalpy ECU, 272 Cams, 740cc injectors etc etc....400whp all day...

BUT SEARCH PLEASE!!! I would not be buying any setup until you understand EVERYTHING you need.

"Search man, this has been covered a million times" thanks for the recomendation. I am buying garret 3076

And I have around 1400 to spend on injectors and Standalone/tune was just hoping to get a quick reference from some of the guys who had already built sucessfully.

Atleast 740cc, maybe even 850s if you can get them for the same price. Also, if you can afford to go solid lifters, you should be able to afford to go standalone. PM Luvs2slide and see if he can get you a used PFC from Japan. He should know who has my old S15 PFC if he cant get you one from Upgarage

Yeah, this is all over the internet. I mean you can look at people's signatures and see what they're running...

I run a 60 trim T3/T4 on my KA - with 85lb (~880cc) top feeds and tuning with Nistune. If you know what you're doing (with tunes in general), then Nistune is very easy and makes a lot of sense. Not sure how many of the SR crowd uses Nistune but I know a of few on the boards over there.

Standalone by itself would easily run over $1,000 - at least when you look at AEM EMS. There's also Haltech, and I think you could consider an EMU a standalone but it's really just a piggyback IMO. There's megasquirt (DIY Auto Tune) which is a board like Nistune. They all do the same thing, just only in a similar or even different way.

Then you always have Enthalpy/JWT but those are in no way standalones/anything that you could/should tune yourself...

Honestly if you're not going to be the one tuning it, find out what your tuner is capable/comfortable with and go that route if you can afford it.

NO SAFC BULLCRAP lol
