Up for sale is a 1992 Nissan 240sx with 5 speed manual transmission. Exterior is white and interior is black. Convertible top was replaced in 2006. Engine rebuilt by previous owner in 2006 as well.
I checked compression and leakdown last week. Leakdown is less than 5% on all cylinders.
Engine compression(psi):
• Cyl 1- 171
• Cyl 2- 177
• Cyl 3- 171
• Cyl 4- 170
Modifications:
Chassis:
•Harness rerouted away from fender wells and through the engine bay on both side
•Carpet removed, all rust and imperfections removed, and repainted white
•Floor pan of the car had some rust spots. I cut out the rust spots and use patch panels from a donor s13 chassis. So all repairs look like original factory metal.
•New-ish carpet inside the car
•S14 front driver and passenger seats
•Gauge cluster modified with a 180sx 9000rpm tach
•Sleepy eye brown wire mod
•No rear seat or interior pieces
•Big dent in the left rear quarter from Indian lady who couldn’t see over the steering wheel
•CAR HAS SALVAGED TITLE DUE TO PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED ACCIDENT! Chassis and suspension were unaffected. Car drives straight and alignment was done in June 2011.
•Ebrake does not work well because the cable brackets need to be reinforced. All ebrake stuff from 300zx was done and everything is connected.
•Heater core started leaking last week. I looped the heater hose on the back of the engine. Will need to pull the dash to replace core if you want heat.
•Dash has one long crack in it. I think I have a spare dash to give along with the car
•Frame rails are clean. Surface rust at best
•Overall the car has its share of dings and scratches from being 20 years old, stored outside, and driving hard. Nothing some overfenders, front fenders, and body kit can’t fix.
Brakes
•Front and rear calipers were disassembled, media blasted, painted with high temp paint, and rebuilt using OEM seal kits from the dealerships
•300zx aluminum 4 piston front caliper, rotor, and pad upgrade
•300zx 2 piston rear calipers, rotors, pads
•300zx rear aluminum upright and hubs
•300zx ebrake assemblies and cables
•300zx brake master cylinder
•stainless steel brake lines
Suspension
•adjustable RUCA
•welded differential…diff was disassembled, all bearings and gears checked, welded, and reassembled. New synthetic fluid. Diff welded June 2011.
•Stance height and damping adjustable coilover suspension system.
•Energy steering rack bushings…not installed but included with the sale
•Peak Performance transmission mount
•SPL front tension rods
•Megas roll center correcting ball joint….not installed but included with the sale
Engine
•Engine was rebuilt by previous owner. It runs very well. Never had an issue with it. At startup the engine gives out a light puff of smoke. Im 99% sure it just valve stem seals. On a KA24DE it’s a fast and easy fix. Valve stem seals are 15 bucks and about 3 hours of labor total. Engine does not consume much oil due to that. On a 3000 mile oil change interval it consumes about 0.25 quarts
•B&M short shifter…feels amazing!
•Amazingly smooth transmission. Never had a KA trans feel this good
•Synthetic trans fluid change done this summer.
•Exedy stock replacement clutch and throwout bearing
•Hotshot header
•Custom exhaust. Nothing special
•EGR system delete
•Ebay intake
•Mishimoto radiator
•Altima electric fans
•Custom build electric fan controller
•Tune-up done this summer, plugs, wires, distributor, rotor, valve cover gasket, front main seal
•Replaced alternator
•Battery about 1 year old
•Synthetic Volvoline VR1 20w-50 oil used in the car in the summer and track events
•Oil pressure solid 30psi at idle and 75psi close to redline
Wheels
•5zigen FN01RC powdercoated white and cleared. Powdercoating done by J&J Powdercoating in Zion, IL.
•Front 17x9+15…front left wheel has a slight bend. Balances and drives fine. No vibration.
•Rear 17x10+12…right rear has very minor curb rash from parallel parking in the city
•Aluminum hub-centric rings
•225/45/17 Toyo Proxes tires in the front. Installed 2 month ago
•235/45/17 Pirelli 4 season tires in the rear. Installed 3 weeks ago
•Can include more 235/45/17 take-off Pirelli’s
Extra parts included with the sale of the car:
•4 point roll hoop with harness bar made by Broke-dick racing….not installed
•S13 regular(non pillar seatbealt) doors. Complete doors with glass, panels, mirrors, handles. Already white
•Good condition rear bumper
Available for purchase along with the car:
-Memory Fab carbon fiber bucket seat ($300)
