so lets just say i have 1989 nissan 240sx k24e, and i swap in a s14 motor, k24de.....what would need to be changed? i guess thats the question i should have origanly asked

Dude in all honesty, you would just take all the shit from the original and put it in the s13

alright I take that back, you're going the opposite way, well same thing. take the motor, wires, ecu, etc. from the s14 and put it in the 89' shell.

then never ever start it & buy yourself a 93' that already has a KA24DE in it.

s14 ka with dual s13 exhaust cams = more power than just an s13 with dual exhaust cams.

s14 kade = 9.5:1 compression
s13 kade = 9.0:1 compression

s13 cams are: intake- 240 exhaust 248
s14 cams: 232/232 intake and exhaust.

^maybe this... I can't confirm.

I do know the V/C and head is a little different. The earlier motors have 3 bolts across the middle and the later versions have that third bolt moved to the rear of the cover along the perimeter.

Not a huge thing, but can make for a real headache if you source the wrong head for a repair.
