Hi everyone. :)
I don't know what sparked my interest in 240's, but I have been avidly searching for one to call my own. My budget is only around $2,500. I don't know anything about the pricing on these cars, and was hoping for some help.
I found one that I'm having someone look at tomorrow, because I live in SC but will be visiting GA later this month.

Those miles are the only thing turning me off. Talked to the owner and he said that he bought it a few weeks ago from the original owner. He's driven it a few times, let it idle yesterday but has never gotten it registered or insured. There's no way for me to get it inspected though.
Any thoughts or advice? Could I find something better for my budget, and should I not even bother with this one?

Rare condition. Miles are high even on a babied car but it depends on what you want the car for? Cheap daily driver ya go for it. I wouldnt pay much, if at all, over 2k though. Being picky and patient is always the best route

its an ok car...I think they are asking way too much for it....
I wouldn't pay more than 1500 for it....but maybe FL is different?

My first 240 was a blacktop powered hatch I bought for 2800....I have several friends who have purchased Sr powered cars for less than 3k. Just to give you an idea. I don't know what your goals are with this car though
Oh yea Welcome to Zilvia....Its like crack, you are now hooked....

Sorry for not saying, but I'm looking for a daily driver that looks good, lol. Something in decent condition that I can continue to baby. My first car was an '86 Z. I loved the car to death but ended up having to sell it because I wanted a 5spd, plus some mechanical problems that I didn't have the money to fix at the time.
I definitely wouldn't pay $2,600 for it, I was thinking about offering $2k at the highest.

in new york city thats not a bad price... i paid 2900 for my coupe redtop with 150k on the body and like 60 on the motor... my only prob is the previous owner mocked everything up so when driving alot of the bolts came out... it was my fault for not looking better but theres alot of shit to look at when buying a car... if you can bring a jack so you can get a look at the underbody... good luck bro

Despite the mileage, that's actually not a bad find at all. The seller also seems upfront about any issues that the car has, something hard to come by these days. Most S-chassis ads go something like this:
240 for sale great condition its primer blak n da body kit be cracked in a few places frum me hittin curbs n such lol but it fine n it got isis/megan/godspeed/clipped springs coilovers wit xxr/sportmax/rotas/steelies and i almos forgot it a 5-SPEED, aw SHIT son!!! O and it got da KA from a 95 or sumthin like dat. $9,000 obo hit me up wors i can say is no lol aight peace n****
[shitty pictures]
These are the ones you avoid like the plague. I would seriously consider this, and your $2k offer ceiling is in the ballpark. At least you know it hasn't been beat on by one of those retardfuck wannabe drifter "hey man it's just a 240 who cares" types (i.e. typical Zilvian). Paint's not in the best shape, but still shinier than mine. Let us know how it goes and best of luck.

For the same amount of money, at least he can go pick up the "stock car" and drive home in it :loco:

Sorry for double post.
I was going to have someone look at it for me today but decided to wait and send them the money ahead of time, just incase it ends up being something I'd like to buy ASAP.
Who knows, maybe something else will pop up in the mean time.
