I have a 91 S13 with an Sr20det swap. Its pretty much stock I just have a FMIC,
BOV (I have it recirculated),370cc, 7psi, Spec stage 2 clutch, Stock fuel pump,
Stock MAF, stock ECU.
I've seen problems like this on forums but they never update the outcome so
thats why I'm stuck.

I have been having trouble for a few months now,( no time working on it, wife ect).
One cylinder cut out on my way home from work.
I changed the ignitor at first but the I noticed that the injector was not firing.
It started with my #1 injector going out. I was trying to get one as quickly as I
can so I called around the local parts stores. O'reilly said they have one in stock so I
I told them to bring me one, I specifically said I need it for a 96 300zx TT. I got
It installed it and It ran funny as shit had no power. I called them back and asked
if the one I got was for a tt or not. Of course it was for a Non turbo. I had to
order one from AZ. It came in I put it in started it ran fine on idle. Went on a test
drive and as soon as the car hit boost it started braking up. I can rev it all i
want without load it revs no problem, but under load it brakes up starts shooting in
the intake under boost. I thought something messed up with the timing so I checked it it was at 15.
I checked for boost leak there was none, checked the wiring, MAF, TPS, Fuel pressure,
pretty much everything and every each and one of those checked out. O2 sensor was working
fine as well. Most of the sensors I checked with MODIS. Someone told me to change the
spark plugs to copper ones and have the gap a .028. After I did that took it on a drive and
it ran the same and by the time I got home, one more cylinder cut out. This time it was #4.
Injector again. Got one a few days later, changed it.No change.
When I was replacing it I noticed that I had a few cracked coils. I went and got new ones
put them in same shit again. I got tired so I left it alone for a while, few weeks ago, got it
out again I read the codes and it said 34. Knock sensor. Replaced it(the
old one had a big ass crack on it), got rid of the codes started the car and the code came
back again. So I'm thinking wiring maybe. Also noticed poor fuel economy, and now on idle
the timing jumps from 15 to 9 to 5 and back to 15 again. I was messing with it today, I checked
most of the wiring again I did not check the wiring to the knock sensor(for the second time since
I started having these issues) yet.
So my question is can a bad knock sensor/ wiring cause all of this or Is there something I'm
missing? Someone told me on another forum that It should not be an issue, but to my knowledge it
can advance and retard timing if there is any knock.
Sorry about the length of my story, but I am so tired of this problem.
