So, I work in a software company, and we have to wear dress shirts and slacks without logos everyday. It's not exactly comfortable and we never get any visitors. I don't really see the point.

where do you work? do you have a dress code/uniform?

Just be happy that you don't have to wear a damn suit like me.

Well i work for an Oil Production company in the I.T Department.

Our requirements aren't to strict, Shirt & Slacks and a pair of clean formal shoes, or you can wear the work branded polo top.
On Fridays we can wear casual which is a bonus.

i do data entry/analysis and IT stuff for this erp software and management solution marketing firm. TLE.market.

basically i cant wear pajamas, basketball shorts, cut off shirts, wife beaters, sweats or sandals. So usually jeans and some sort of button up short sleeve shirt. The owner was like "yeah i gotta keep some level of professionalism around here. So basically just dont come in here looking like you just woke up or someone off the fucking street and you're fine"

I dont deal with customers, I have my headphones in and ipod on 90% of the day and i'm on a computer so i can't complain. lol

Wore a button up, tie, slacks, and dress shoes my first week here. (Dress for the job you want right?)

Turns out it was more formal than what the directors were wearing around the office.. and was told "If we're wearing ties and suits when we hold meetings with our vendors they tend to think wer'e in it just for the money and don't care about the industry.."

So now I wear shmedium shirts and jeans to work, because I refuse to wear shorts and sandals like a majority of our reps that visit the office..

The bike industry is retarded.

If I'm meeting with clients or if I'm on work travel, I usually wear a suit.

For a normal day in the office, it's business casual. I generally refuse to wear khakis unless it's Friday just because I don't like to schlep, so for me, biz-casual means:

-Tailored trousers (custom, moods of norway, canali)
-Dress shirt (custom, gitman, tyrwhitt, ervell, BB ESF, etc)
-Shoes (lace ups only, usually Allen Edmonds)

Casual fridays are generally slim khakis (any number of colors), my Bean Signature moc boots, and a casual shirt. Sort of upscale lumberjacky.

Going to have some more suits made this winter though, and I think I'll start putting suits in my normal weekly rotation. No one here does it, but I still want to.

I'm an engineer at a small manufacturer. Jeans and a polo or other collared shirt every day. Safety glasses when I go out in the shop.

I used to work for a larger manufacturer with a stricter dress code. Had to wear slacks every day except Fridays when we could wear jeans. Usually wore a polo or other collared shirt. When I started, I wore a tie the first few days, but every time I went out to the manufacturing floor, I had to tuck the tie in, so I decided to stop. Also had to wear steel-toed shoes out on the floor.

Data Analyst for school of medicine/hospital.

Currently business casual, so dress pants and long sleeve button up for me, usually Friday will be just a polo instead of button shirt.

Was actually at the hospital a few months ago, had to be a tie everyday then, sucked.

I'm wearing a pretty nice Express button up (blueish purple with vertical green stripes), and some jeans to work today. I typically wear a graphic T and sometimes a polo.

I'm at an office that does engineering and manufacturing that builds ships and handles nuclear work. Sometiems we go out in the field with hard hats and steel toes. There is no dress code really. Some ppl wear t shirts and jeans, some ppl dress up. We aren't allowed to wear shorts and sandles and other safety hazardous clothing on a work site.
