its was 298 if u must be technical, however my tune below is quite rich.(Canned tune for e85 from Emancetune.) If I lean this out i can easily gain 20whp.
15psi, e85,850cc,t28,freddy itm, ebay fpr, fmic with custom hardpipes.

Nice! Not too shabby. I made 350 rwhp at 12 psi in my 93 rx7 a few years ago....and then recently retuned with alky injection to 20 psi at 450 rwhp.

Holy crap. Is that that GT2560R/S15 Spec R turbo or something?

Nah its a s14 t28. Not too great. Boost kinda fluttered around. Could be my boost controller tho

cool story bro.
my rx7 makes 500whp at 14psi - but it has nothing to do with this thread.

Your tune is rich? Looks to be about right. 11-12.0. Leaning out up top seems like.

That seems kinda low for e85. I did 306hp on a gtir t28 at 16lbs on 93. I figured since the e85 is gonna cool a bit better you can turn up the boost to 18-19lbs and mess with timing a bit more and get a decent bit more power.

Oops forgot e85 lol

T28 is inefficient past 16psi. With better tune 320 is easy. Ill try and either resend my ecu to emance. Or take it to local tuner

Good job on the numbers... but a little more info would be interesting. A lot of people have hit 300 on an sr20 before so.... e85 is cool but what setup are you running? Can you give us a lot more info? Built bottom end, injector size, ecu, etc etc....

wow, you're story is even cooler but no one gives a f*.

Sure man. S13 redtop. Stock bottom head and cams. Just a canned tune from emance. 850cc injectors z32maf. Walbro 255. EBay fpr and fmic. Just glad to join the club and once I address the afrs lean it out a little can be over 300 is my goal.

That is pretty impressive without a cams and a s14 t28. Im curious to see what you would make on 91. My goal is 300whp as well. Right now im at 250 at 11psi with at gt2871. Do you know if you were you close to maxing out your injectors at all?

He would make less than 250whp on 91. Alot less.
E85 is like pouring unicorn blood into your gas tank of a turbo vehicle.
I'm at about 260whp on 10psi with a 2871. My torque is 280+ though. Efficiency range of this turbo is 14-24psi. So yea....we are doing pretty good. Wait till you hit 18psi. Youre gonna break 350 haha

just wait...you're gonna slap yourself for spending money on that setup when you could have gone twinscroll gt3071r or gt3588r and still spool just as fast as a gt2871r for just a lil more dough. You know the rule, the bigger the power, the bigger your penis is. Women like a biiick peenizzz.
But built bottom ends would be much needed insurance for top mounts, though plenty of guys have gone stock bottom end and last with the top mounts...its all in the tune, but better to be safe then sorry :).

its all in what the car is used for i personally enjoyed my 2871r and the power band it had better than my current top mount setup (precision sc3431), and as far as 3071r or 3588r spooling as fast as a 2871...absolutely not homie
op, nice numbers for a t28, and i dont think you should look to lean out your map, 11-12 AFR is pretty spot on

This was my budget build. When this Turbo goes ill get a bigger one and up the boost.
also in reply to Herbie, E85 is best tuned around 12.5-13 for afr. I know this to be true from research and dyno proof, earlier yesterday in the dyno runs was a 482whp STI with stock long block @27psi. E85 was exactly along the 13. Was quite impressive

I would email emance if you're interested in a retune. I know he can fine tune it. Just include that dyno/afr print out in the email. Nice dyno run.

em i could have sworn results of twinscroll gt3071r/gt3588rs were pretty damn fast (i mean ya of course a .64ar gt2871r will always be a fast spooler ...) but my point i was getting at was it wasnt that much slower and if you gonna be dumpin money to for all that tuning, minues well go big or go home :0.
but his purpose was achieved for that setup so not knockin on what he got. 300hp out of the s14 t28 is good enough power for fun play as is.
