I miss having a 240 so bad that I truly cannot wait any longer. My dreams involve 240s! It's gotten this bad. I've been waiting for one to come into our dealership, and nothing seems to be going on, so I'm gonna turn to you guys, and I do hope at least a couple of you will tell me you know or you are someone who's looking to get rid of theirs. I'm basically looking for something ridiculously cheap that is as beat up as possible but has a good frame, good axles, a five-speed tranny that may or may not function, and nothing else do I care about. I dont' care if it has major body damage, I don't care if it doesn't run, I don't care if it's missing parts, I don't care if the interior is trashed, I don't care about any of that. So... someone give me some good news, or I'll truly go insane!
Sincerely yours,
Irena

i've got an '89. looks great. frame is.. eh. a little rusted. nothing that couldn't be fixed right? interior and extorior in exceptionally good condition. engine is imacculately clean and has 120,000 + miles on it. on main prob... it has a blown auto tranny... i could sell the 5spd tranny off my other car if you want as well. I'm not sure how much i want for the tranny but i'll take $800 for the car

I just kept watching the classifieds and found a '89 coupe for $800 it's nasty brown, but it's a 240 and pretty cheap too. I guess I got lucky from what I have seen since

I called him when you posted that up.
Rubbersidedown, is this coupe or hatchback? (This the car in your signature pic.?) and if not, what color exterior? Where are you located?

its a dark red hatchback and its an '89 (3 shades of red actually, the previous owner painted it quite a few times). the pic in my signiture is of the wrecked '91.

I've got an 89 with 180,000, 5 speed, ROH 16 inch rims, cross-drilled brakes, new alternator, new starter, new struts in rear, dunlop d60's for rubber... interior almost perfect except for minor tear in left side of driver seat. Also just two days ago someone did a hit and run on me, rear left quarter right on the corner itself, some scrapes and about a 2 1/2 inch dent, nuthin to major.
This is the only pic I have, i've been thinkin of sellin it if I get a good offer...

Well granted I won't go $800, but still really really cheap cuz I'd kinda like to get rid of it to get a different one

Rubbersidedown, just curious what is the frame rust like? I had the chanse to buy an immaculate 91 coupe (I mean this car's paint was perfection itself, except for the stupid plastic spoiler, which was slightly peeling) for only $1500. The only thing wrong with it was that its main 2 side frame rails were rusted pretty bad. I ended up not going for it, because I wanted the car to last a long time, and eventually do an engine swap, so it wasn't the perfect car for that purpose.
I wonder if there was a design flaw at the factory where some frame parts weren't properly rust protected.

I definitely need a perfect frame.
There's a guy around my area looking to get rid of his without a motor for free.... so.... I think he's got you all beat. I gotta go check out the car.
I'll let you all know how it goes.
You guys are awesome.
