Looking to get a ball park on what my car is worth, any input would be great. Thanks in advance and hope this is not breaking any posting rules.
This car came up from Florida a few years ago and has no rust, frame or body damage with a clean Car Fax. There are a few door dings and scuffs but nothing major on the car. All original down to the cassette player, muffler and air filter. I just put new brakes, valve cover gasket and changed the oil. The heat and AC work great and everything works with no problems.

Yeah I figured whoever would buy it would be building it and pull the auto anyways. Great car it has been my daily for 8 months with no issues and I need something with more room for hauling stuff (chicks, dogs, dead hookers). hate to see such a clean car get all beat up in Chicago winters.

I might be wrong but starfire blue might be the rarest color. Either way that's the color of my first zenki and I love it. Very clean car, and I'd agree on the ~5k range, but not much less. Good luck with sale

Dark Fuschia (LS1 color code) is indeed the rarest with Starfire Blue coming in second. The Dark Fuschia color was only offered for one year with that being 1997. Most people believe there were less than 100 made in the color.
I tried selling mine about 5 months ago and had no luck, same condition as yours...even dropped the price to 4k (lost my job and needed to sell it)! I got alot of "only if it was a manual" and "you live too far away" I decided to just keep it and glad I did.
GLWS! Someone should jump on this clean rare kouki!

You are somewhat correct. Dark Fuschia and Starfire Blue colors were both dropped after January 1998.
Makes me wonder how many were made during that one month run in 1998.

kbb should not decide the value of this car. For dealerships I understand they basically revolve around kbb but more often than not I would have people who really know this car judge it especially in this condition. kbb will probably underprice it. They also dont factor in rarity on this car as much

I would say atleast 5K all day long. I just picked up a 97 in pearl white, higher miles and not quite as clean and straight. It was also auto and I paid 5K and was more than happy with that. On top of that my bank even said they had it listed for 6500K so not sure what they do to find value but I was surprised by that.

zilvia and drift tax has driven prices up just like the housing bubble that burst.
smart people know where to find them cheap. i just saw a pearl white 97 5spd w/ 132k sell for 2750.
i know its a rare color, but its not like a 240 is a collectors car.
and maybe this should be obvious, but a bank will only lend up to
KBB value, just because its a rare color doesnt make it worth more UNTIL it turns into a classic car i.e. 60s or 70s muscle car all original numbers matching.
i'm a realist. he asked the value, i gave him my honest opinion.
if he can sell it for 6500, GOOD FOR HIM!

A classic car is considered any car that is 25 years old, then it is considered an antique after 40.

Not true. Many banks take into account that KBB is GROSSLY outdated and extremely inaccurate on some cars. They arent going to loan you $15k for the thing, but most banks are reasonable with what they will loan you, assuming your credit is good.
But at the end of the day you probably shouldnt be financing a $5k car.
Kc, you know you're just gonna end up selling it a month after you "finish" it.

You are not a realist, you are a lowballing dick. I highly doubt your story of the 2750 kouki, unless it was a shell. Kbb lists his car at 4750 with very good condition. Drift tax and zilvia have nothing to do with this. I'm sure someone that had no idea what drifting is and is just buying a car to drive would gladly pay ~5k fir this car. OP, not a cent lower than 5k. Clearly, you will be low balled, but just ignore them.

It may not be exactly a collectors car NOW, but it definitely be the equivalent of the 240/260/280z's of back in the days. The number of registered 240's have decreased dramatically.

i never made an offer on his car, i do not want to buy his car, therefor i never lowballed him an offer.
i'm on my 13th s-chassis, grow up before starting a rant. i pickup s13's for less than $400 bone stock running driving clear titles, and i'll send you the link to the white 97 kouki for 2750 if you still have a stick up your ass and need the proof.
Hoffman5982

S13's go for cheap because they are generally ragged out. Super clean ones will catch a bit more, and I think even you know that. S14's are worth more than s13's, even when ragged out, but even more so when they are super clean like the OP's. I did read what I typed. You are the one making the accusation that it isn't worth 5k, but if you'd learn how to do some simple research kbb would show that it is in fact worth more than your measley 2750. Please, by all means provide me the link to this mythical kouki. I believe you even less since you didn't go ahead and provide it when I already showed my doubt. You say I have a stick up my ass. That's fine. I say you are a cheap ass typical s chassis owner. Maybe you are the one that needs to grow up

wow Id say 6k, because virgin 240s are getting hard to find. Again there is people who won't agree with that but it look how good the undercarriage looks. If you appreciate cars and their condition, then that price isn't too much to ask for.
Get the car detailed, throw tire dressing on the tires, it will look 6k.
Ever see a bone stock good condition 240z on the road? still impressive over some janky 240z.. wait til this gets up in age in that condition.

Yeah, no shit, i live in BC too and man was it hard to find a decent 240 ....
5G ?? wtf.. it's hard to find a clean S13 around here for that, they all go in the 3-4 range... so an S14 is gonna fetch in the 8 - 10 range for a clean one for sure...
maybe not with auto, but still...
If you want to get 5 for it, you should post it for 6, that gives you some wiggle room, and makes them feel like a hero when they "talk you down", and if someone actually gives 6, then hey.. bonus

Hoffman, case in point.
They are not hard to find if you know where to look.
And the bottom line, its worth whatever someone is willing to pay. He could list it for 12k, if someone thinks its worth it then it will sell.
The same with eBay, I got a set of BC racing Z33 coilivers for ~$250 plus shipping because no one bid against me. I see BC racing Z33 coilovers on ebay sell for ~1250 all day long, so I sold them for $850 to a local kid made ~$500 net.
You arent looking hard enough for the deals bro.
ALSO, value varies across the country. An East coast 240 is not valued the same as a west coast 240.
