View Full Version : Should there be a forum for Wheels/Tires?
I made a new forum for Cars For Sale as it was suggested by a member.
My questions if should there be another forum in the FS Section for Wheels/Tires? A RX7 Sites does this, but they have more members and more interchangeable wheels.
I think the Cars FS Forum makes since, not sure on a Wheels/Tires on since I dont like to go into a billion forums to see stuff.
Anyways, gimme your thoughts!

Whenever I search for wheels it is difficult to find them in the for sale section. It is for this reason that I voted yes. The thing is, not many wheels get sold compared to other items so I think there won't be many posts but despite this, it'll be nice.

I voted no at first. but now I changed my mind. I think there should be one, why not? It'll be so much easier to click on it, and if yuo dont need it, then whats the harm in having another thread?
What I really want to see is regional for sale threads
Like, divide it up, because a lot of times, people want to do local pickups. I goto for sale forum, and type in norcal, but it still coems up with lots of stuff.
Regional forums would be nice :)

Make it Wheels/Tires/Brakes/Suspension For Sale they all relate to each other...
Brian
I plan on doing a Regional section. Might convert the Events Section into that since people are just making threads about 1 meet and using it for chat.

I vote yes. I search the FS forums for wheels and suspension parts everyday.
Maybe divide it up as follows:
-Wheels/tires/suspension/chassis
-Engine/drivetrain
-Exterior
-whatever else I might have left out.
Just so if somebody is looking for something specific, they can get to it easier, and if somebody is just browsing, they can jump from forum to forum, I know I wouldn't have a problem browsing 3 or 4 different for sale forums if I wasn't looking hard enough to buy something specific. just my opinion. I vote yes.
Great thread topic too.

i see a wheel/tire section in the galleries being more useful than a FS forum.
that is seriously why the search funcion is up there, it's not terribly tough to get through and find what you are looking for

While were talking about additions to the site, why not make the Search button RED and BOLD...so its easier to see for newbies.

I would only vote yes if we had like 1000's of post per day in the classifed area.
now that cars for sale is up..
the rest is just parts.
if I were to try and sell my rims I would only reach the ppl who are looking for rims.
but someone might not be looking for rims and my "super good price" might catch thier eye.
I mean its a good idea, but i vote NO:aw:

yep yep!
although there aren't many wheel/tires fs on a regular basis that I have seen, I think this is a good idea. There are TONS of people out there looking for wheels (yes, admit it, deep inside you DO have a wheel fetish!!), and I think this would help.
Just MHO!

I think the division between cars and parts is enough.

I browse the for sale forum for stuff that is on sale. I wouldn't browse a seperate wheels and tires forum as much and I think others probably feel the same way, so they wouldn't get as much exposure.

i voted yes, i think everyone likes to browse wheels and look at what people have. Another nice thing is just not having to bump the thread so many times. After one day your post can already be on the third page, and honest to god, the only posts i ever read on the forum in general are on the first page

I think the more specific a forum is the better, especially for classifieds. I hate searching through a lot of stuff I'm not even interested in.

i like digging through threads to find for sale ads about wheels. it's more challenge :) a new section of only suspension parts, tires and wheels for sale is an alriiiiight idea, but i vote no. there's not enough for sale threads going up that having a new section would provide that much of a convenience.

i voted no. i personally dislike having seperated sections for classifieds, as i enjoy looking around for nothing specific. the 240sx.org site, for example, has way too many subsections, which makes it difficult/annoying to browse, especially for those with low speed connections. it is also annoying when you click and click and click, and find that there is nothing new. i actually rarely visit the group buys and wanted sections, and have missed out on stuff i would otherwise have gone for if they were all bunched together in a single classifeds.
i totally understand the need for organization, however. sites such as club4ag has so many users and so many posts, that the new posts can be as far back as page 3. since i do not personally see the need for further organization here at zilvia, i voted accordingly.
either way, i will be happy. i have many many sets of wheels, mostly thanks to the members of this forum. if there is a new section, i could buy/sell more wheels. if there isn't a new section, i could buy/sell less. either way, the pros (getting wheels) versus the cons (spending money) ratio is the same.
just my stupid opinion! it's nice to see a refreshing attempt at refinement. go zilvia!

Vote Yes on the sub-forum.
If voting for presidents and senators were this easy.

i think thats a pretty god idea, then people could sell more on that forum. on our hawaii page. speedhawaii.com / forums.hawaii.com or whatever it is, we have a tires/wheel page and everyone still just sells their wheels and tires on the for sales page, and thats why i say NO. but i think that brian made a good point.
