Silvia itasha in Japan, presumably after the tsunami.

I should be clear about it, I'm not trivializing the quake or tsunami and the lives lost, but only highlighting the zilvia community's connection, however tenuous, to something terrible that happened half a world away. We should think about the things we treasure and how they can be lost in the blink of an eye. All the more reason to treasure what we have right now, say prayers for those who suffered and are still suffering in Japan, and say a word of thanks that we are safe. Sorry, I didn't expect so many people to take it the wrong way.

So hundreds of thousands of people are homeless, over 10,000 people dead and all you care about is a fucking piece of shit car that nobody could possibly care about?!?!

I can understand some folks upset about Drift Matsuri getting canceled since Ebisu got jacked up but thats understandable since people spent time and money planning their trips, but this thread is fucking worthless as shit.

Agreed. So many people dead or homeless, so many lives destroyed, yet this thread is about a POS 150,000yen Silvia.

Wow..sorry, I didn't see this in the original earthquake thread, and I have friends in japan who were affected, so I'm NOT trying to trivialize it. I only wanted to share because it was an S13 which I thought this forum is about, and also highlight that the connection we have to a tragedy far away. Plus I'm interested in itasha since I watch a little anime, so it was a personal connection for me, ie. a fellow otaku's car and maybe life was lost in this tragedy. Please don't take the post the wrong way.

Insurance in Japan is a fucking Joke. I'd be surprised if people got 40% of their insurance out of everything they lost.

Car insurance for example. Japan has no fault insurance. You're stopped at a light and somebody decides to rape your car from the rear, like an angry silverback gorilla in heat. Just cuz you're out driving, you will more than likely 10-15% liable for the accident. Only way somebody would be 100% liable is when your car is parked and somebody plows into it. Even then, that also depends on where the hell your car is parked.

I remember hearing that even though it's technically legal to park on the street like so many people do, that if someone actually hits your car, you will be at least partially at fault. Never saw anything in writing that said that, and my wife didn't know for sure, but I know I heard/read that somewhere.

eh, i dont give a fuck about japanese people. it sucks, and its unfortunate, but i dont know any people from japan, so i really dont care. im a cold heartless bastard, so im not going to be PC and pretend i care about some people half a world away. i do however, care about cars, so seeing this car affects me more than hearing about the deaths from the tsunami/earthquake. everyone has shit, no matter where you live. deal with it.
