Used energy steering rack bushings. my dad has racks full of leftover metal off his racecar so that definitly cut down cost while making all the braces

looks good man, props to the little details on the suspension (paint, POR, etc..)
just wanted to tell you the breather on the valve cover is a vacuum leak.
you need to vent that to a catch can then to the intake (turbo inlet)

im a Master Tech Bushing Replacer now tho i just awarded my self a certificate

THat is fucking hysterical man! Love the fact you actually work on your car and can do it all yourself unlike 94.2% of the rest of this forum. DIY for life, I fuckin love it.

(Although that strut brace with those aditional bars won't hurt, I don't see it helping much either. As far as keeping the tires as the same angle in drift, I don't think it will ever happen perfectly as it's a function of the suspension design)

i think i might know who your talking about. my buddy jeremy(jablowme) is friends with him im pretty sure. hes the one that has so much angle he can make a u-turn in one lane?

hahaha thanks man!! 94.2% did u get that fact off a snapples cap? it was time consuming but i wanted to make sure everything was brand new and fresh so i didnt have to worry about it. and i had those bars laying around from my dads car so i figured why not make something different. it will help a tiny bit with rear flex but if not it will atleast look cool when im done ha. and DIY 4Life!!

so tomorrow i guess i will begin my day by going to harbour freight and getting some wire and heat shrink so i can begin extending my injectors, MAF, Cam angle, O2 and a couple others so i can tuck my harness. i have a good base to go off of cause i already extended everything on my other harness(POS) that im no longer using. im also going to rig up one of my relays to run straight power to my starter solenoid when the ignition switch is put in the start position and bypass the clutch interlock switch relay because my body harness is an automatic but i swapped out my chasis harness with a manual so my harness is all confused when i try to start my car and it wont crank. i also need to take my GFB hybrid valve off my evo and put it on. so many things to do its time to go ni night.

Have you tested the engine to make sure everything works, like compression, ext? I'd hate to see someone go through all of this just to find out they got a bad SR shipped to them. That happens often nowadays.

lol the sad thing is i havent. and my warranty is up. i checked the static compression and the weird thing is it got 210 psi consistant on all 4 which is way over spec. it did come with a metal head gasket so some one had to deck the block but i dont understand how the compression got raised so high. im crossing my fingers and trying to build as much good karma as i can before i fire it up haha:smash:

Please don't. I love Harbor Freight for some things, but heat shrink isn't on the list. You're in Sac. Go to Fry's. They have some tougher adhesive shrink for not much more than the HB stuff. I've spent far too much time re-soldering connections due to shitty shrink to wish it on anyone.

ok thanks for the heads up bro. do u recall how much heat shrink was at frys?

I paid about 12 bucks for 3 sizes of shrink and some butane. It's been a month or two, so I don't have the receipt handy to be more accurate.

I'm speaking from experience lol, I spent all the time you did just to find out the oil pump was bad and it had low compression on cyl 3. Im praying for you, I like you budget build. It looks really nice to only cost that much.

Hey thanks man I'm praying to. Lol if it's no good I guess I'll just have to start an engine build thread haha. The static compression was consistent but those numbers Arnt usually accurate so I guess I won't kno until I crank it over

Dad wisdom is the best. I'm starting to warm him up to the imports. Ha he actually wants to try drifting now.

so you have new subframe bushings plus collars? or are those risers?

so you have new subframe bushings plus collars? or are those risers?

No just collars. I was in a rush and didn't want to burn the stock bushings out of the subframe so I went with the collars. Wish I did the risers. Eventually I will but I'm pretty happy with how solid the collars turned out

It should feel good for a while.. eventually you might start hearing squeaking from that area. Mine felt good for about 2-3 years after the collars and now its completely shot. Needs bushing replacement.. Also i leave my car outside under a cover in the winter so that probably aids to the rubber deterioration a bit.

If you don't mind it running like a bag of dicks, you can get plugs/caps at home depot for that ricer atmospheric sound. However I'd like to think you're not a ricer, so recirculate it.

prancertevo
09-23-2011, 06:13 PM
Oh jeez I just love that ricer atmospheric sound but I dislike bags of dicks. Luckily I can make noise and recirculate at the same time. Yeahya
