I have a 91 coupe with stick and i recently swapped out the engine with the same KA24DE. The new engine is a 95 and everything is solid on it.:wiggle: Everything is hooked up and ready to go but it wont start. It turns over but it just wont start.:werd: I have a brand new starter, spark plug wires, spark plugs and i double checked if the fuel pump is working. I also checked that the distributor is giving enough spark and it has the right compression. I tried using starter fluid and still nothing. I had a friend tell me it could be a sensor that is not working or something. I think it could be the knock sensor but could that prevent the car from working? And what other sensors or certain wires can prevent my car from starting? Anything will help.

Dude I am having the exact same problem with the exact same motor. I have never heard of a car not starting due to the knock sensor.

I put the car at tdc by pulling out the spark plug for cyl 1 and putting the spark plug wire back in the hole then cranking it until the wire pops out. Then line up the crank with the tdc mark and then pull out my distributorand make sure marks are lined up then install with cap off to make sure it is pointing toward cyl 1 correct? If so I have done this 4 times....

You need a timing light. Connect it to spark plug wire #1 with the spark plug installed and beam it down at the crank pulley. Forgot which mark it is on the KA, I've had an SR practically my whole s-chassis life... lol

I guess you are suggesting to hook up the timing light and just crank the car since it will not start?
