I have a 90 240sx. It is having a "jerking" problem, like it's missing. Seems to be worse when it's cold. When I'm stopped at a red light it sometimes acts like it is going to die, the rpm's drop and the car jerks. I smell gas strongly when I start it up. Many time when I accelerate, it does not respond, but sort of sputters instead. Any help is appreciated

240s dont have carbs, but anyway check your mass air flow meter, it is located on the intake pipe next to the air box, remove the plug and see if there is any rust on the connectors, if there is remove the rust, also remove the mass air flow meter and see if there is anything blocking it. If the mas is ok then check for any vacume leaks, (any little hoses hanging and if your motor is making a hissing sucking sound) then check your timing with a timing light, if its not any of those, get a sr20

Actually, for the KA24E there was a carb swap available. Just an F.Y.I.
