Really nice piece, but the price just took the wind out of my sails though.

TO me, Turbosmart EboostII is still king (with similar functions as well), and 150 dollars less.

I have a friend from another platform who is working on a boost controller/info screen that can do all of this. also has wideband input/monitoring, knock monitoring, and the option to cut boost on knock or lean conditions.

less than half of the price of this unit too.

Its not just about the features of the controller guys... Its about resolution and the quality of the stepping motor. Your interface can fly a fucking space ship for all I care, but the stepping motor needs to be right on....

Its software and mechanical don't forget.....

How fast is the sampling rate for your boost level?

I dont know, as the guy who im getting to do it hasnt finished the nissan version. uses a standard consult interface for all the ECU data, so it should be compatible with most early 90's nissans, and has seperate input for wideband, and the boost controller can also be operated independently. the few guys that have his existing unit on their car say its better than any other ebc they have used.

I'd be interested to see the HKS motor as well, as 90% of all the new ones utilize the same new motor design. If they've been able to adapt a new style motor that would be cool.

However lets also not forget that the software also has a lot to do with it. Certainly the precision of the unit helps, but the software IMO is 75% of the battle.

I'll still maintain the Turbosmart EBoostII is the premier off the shelf controller at the moment. My other issue with many of these newer controllers is they often get way too complicated, so I hope HKS can fix that as the EBoostII is a little on the confusing side at first.

You can't open a Japanese tuner magazine without an ad, rewiew or break down of this new unit. Thanks for posting the video BTW...

If I was in the market, I'd scoop this up. I have a friend who has a EVC 5 and he can't stop talking about it...
