I need some help, the weather just got rather cold and i would like to buy a block heater. The problem is that i don't think they make them for the SR20DET. Which block heater will fit in this engine. Plz only people with actual knowledge reply. I don't want to pay $200 for nothing...
Thanks in advance,
Greg

I was about to say "Just how cold is it?" before I saw your location. Some of our colder members may know. Are block heaters really that complex? If they are car specific, you may get away with one for a 2.0 Sentra.
EDIT: More infos: From an Alaskan friend --
"There are several kinds, and depending on that they install in different ways. The simplest act like a heating element attached to the oil pan."

i thought there were universal ones, like a heavy heat blanket you hang/wrap/tie to the block and pan anywhere possible then plug it in to heat it up.

Someone told me the block heater for the sr20de will fit on my engine, is this bullshit, or does it actually?

I honestly don't think you'll find too many folks with SR20DETs that need block heaters, you may be the guinea pig on this one. There's a strong chance a Sentra SR20 block might share the heater, but. . .

there is another possibility
one of my friends used a coolant circulator/heater on his old RX-7 it just spliced into the radiator hose it worked great but our weather is not quite as cold as yours.
