I've been puting more octaine in it idk if I need to retard the timing but ima try new spark plugs and gas filter first

check and correct ignition timing. do not drive the car anymore until you fix it. detonation is REALLY BAD.

do a compression check while your at it lol. Detonation can crack piston tops, fuck up rings etc.

Retard your timing 2-3 degrees. Should do it.

Yes. More timing is more power. Less is...well you get it.

And how else can I fix detonation I'm tuning 89 obtain should I run 91 and will that stop the detonation?

91 will def help a lot. Cooler air entering the manifold helps a lot also.

You live in cali? As far as I know there's nothing street legal about any mod. Get any header you want. I would out a heat shield on it to make it look stock lol
