ok...ive got a 1991 240sx that i bought as a semi project car. i bought it not running at all and i got it running...just not all that good..lol..but my main issue is it seems like it has a massive misfire right now. the previous owner said he did a compression test on it and it read fine. but i replaced the plugs and coil packs and it didnt seem to change anything. i drove it a little but through my parking lot but not enough to build boost or anything. i know i need to replace the idle air control valve cause the plug on that is broken but i dont know if that will competely fix my issue here. i got new injectors for it and that seemed to help a little bit. but any other ideas from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

had a similar issue with my ca at one point...my cam sensor was the culprit

the plug that usually breaks off the IACV is strickly for the idle up function when the AC is on.(one that points off the intake plenum towards the drivers side shock tower)

Sounds like you have a vac leak, do you have a boost gauge to read HG?

could also be a CTS, they love to make the car run like shiz and/or not run at all.

Crank sensor may have a broken tooth, and not overly uncommon issue.

did you cap off the vac line under The TB?

pictures?

maybe a small vid of the engine running?

have you checked timing?

you adjust the timing at all?

From your video i see you did not prime the oil pump. you also messed with the timing.

Also if you did the wiring yourself, you should use shielded wiring for extending the cas, maf, and O2 sensors. If you didnt, you chould have problems.

thats my 2 cents.... also you shouldnt make two threads for the same thing.

lol...what is this priming of the oil pump you speak of...haha...and i didnt intentionally make 2 threads...the other one was for those random lines..just saying...and i didnt do the swap, i got it swapped... and the only reason we messed with the timing was because at the time that was the only way we could get it to start.

Your mechanical timing sounds off. Playing with your CAS to attempt to rectify isn't going to get you what you want.

right... were not messing with that any more...the timing seems to be fine now.. as far as idling goes...i still need to have the timing done on it...but we at least have it idling...
