I have a KA24DE that i want to rebuild. This engine will not see any boost only a daily driver, but I would like to put in parts that are a little better than stock so that it will last me a while. The most i'm going to do is CAI, Header, and exhaust. I see the package deals all over online that come with everything I think. Is it cheaper that way or should I piece together everything? Is there a complete list someone has so I don't miss anything.

i can see that nobody wants to answer....
i used to have a stock ka and to tell you the truth, cai, exhaust, headers...all that dont really make a difference, if you want the car to last just do regular maintenance =)

Get an FSM. They have a whole rebuild in there.

package deals are always cheaper. just make sure they the right size(stock or oversize pistons and rings, bearings, etc.). make sure you go to a reputable machine shop to have all the machining done. you`ll need to have the head rebuilt, cylinder bores honed, crank bearing journals polished, cylinder block thoroughly cleaned and maybe decked. you also need to thoroughly clean all of the parts that you are going to re use. i even clean all the nuts and bolts. have the rods and pistons steam cleaned by your machine shop too. and double check all of the specs. from piston ring gaps to bearing clearances. stick with name brand bearings and piston rings too, they last longer.
