Random box in s13 bay?

s13, i couldnt help but notice there was this random plastic reservoir that had nothing running to it and was empty. i took it off real easily. what was/is it for?

it's part of the intake system. Did you have a stock intake on the car?

yes, was it necessary? it really didnt line up to the box that my airfilter is housed in

That is not a reservoir. It's part of the Intake system. Windshield wiper is on the passenger side underneath the battery tray.

might b a dumb ? but can u cut the front of it off so it can catch air and shoot it up into the engine bay. im thinkin to help cool the engine compartment.

If you want to cool engine temps, you want to pull air out, not blow in. Adding air without an exit will just move it around in the bay; I dont think thats very efficient in cooling it down haha.
