i recently bought a used gt2871r turbo that was suppose to be "brand new" with
only 2000 miles. well i have the guy put the turbo in for me because he offered me a good deal. well after a month of drive the car smoke really bad at idle and i was like wtf!!! but when i drive it it hardly smokes. the smoke is white looks like coolant. Check your fuel injector seals. I had a similar situation with my car. Lower injector seal was cracked so it was constantly pissing fuel into the cylinder producing a shit load of smoke. Also check your compression to rule out head gasket.

Also might want to check the o2 sensor, mine smoked like that before i bought it, and it was the o2 wiring melted to the header , but it def sounds like you are running very rich

I did a compression test it was good. 150 across the board. It's not the head gasket because I did radiator test. The weird thing is that It boost fine and pulls hard it idle fine expect all the smoke. I pulled the turbo off and their was no shaft play. It spins freely! Wtf!!!

i went and checked the injectors and the fine their is nothing wrong with o-rings they were new anyways. also i found a shit ton of oil in the intercooler piping. and in the actualy turbo itself. i guess its the turbo. FML!!!

Isn't there supposed to be oil in the turbo...?

if you found oil in your intercooler piping, then your seals are gone in your turbo

yea at first thought it was the oil catch can cause i wasnt running one. damn i just lost a grand. fuck, now i got to buy a new 1300 turbo. im beat that dudes ass.
