Ok I just got my 240 and it has a gt2871r .86 turbo with 740cc injectors, but I was thinking about going external wastegate. But I'm unsure as to which one. I'm thinking tial 38mm or maybe 40mm? Idk and what spring combo should I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Try here buddy:

That question is not new, and should be searched before posting in the small questions thread, but it definitely doesn't deserve it's own thread.

Well, what are you planning on getting for a manifold? Depending on the manifold will usually dictate the wastegate you'd run.

Personally, run the stock manifold. Just get it extrude honed, then have a machine shop drill and weld a v-band flange on it, then run a v-band 44mm tial MVS on it.

There is also a huge thread dedicated to SR and 2871 users. I am posting from iPhone or I would include a link. I think that would be the beat place to look.

In regards to spring choice ive always tried to keep the spring within a few PSI of the intended boost level, that way you get the closest boost curve and the external gate is actually doing its best job.

Some people have said a spring is good for double the amount so a 10PSI spring would be good for upto 20PSI but ive always prefered if its within 2PSI!

I agree with this. A quality spring will always produce an idea boost curve. EBCs start getting harry the more you try to increase the boost over the spring pressure.
