I lived on Thassos for about 5 years, visited Kavala, thessaloniki and Athens multiple times.

I was thinking about building a little shit box to send over there so that i can drift when i visit.

yeah its gonna be hard to find people man.. when i brought my s13 over there people were trippin out cause its so rare.. if you dont have dual citizenship its not worth it haha...you have to pay for the boat, permit to drive the vehicle, inspection to pass dot checks, and smog. (if your staying over 6 months)

well depends what you want from your vacation? relaxation, parties? also the time of the year plays a definite part. if you wanna avoid crowds, july and august are definetly out. generally the smaller islands are the best, better quality in everything, and cheaper. the only big island worth visiting is Crete. great food, lots of places to visit, i would say relatively cheap...you pay the same, but you get much more.

My family lives in Athens -- visit every couple of years and have lived there for a year at a time here and there :)

if you re talking about legal car action, then the best place is near the Serres racing circuit, near Thessaloniki. Hosts track days, drags etc all the time, and the track is real good. http://www.serrescircuit.gr/en/

The track near athens, is a ran down piece of shit, that sometimes works , sometimes doesnt. http://www.athenscircuit.gr/

want to retire here? a place where gasoline is 2 euros /liter and 2.000cc cars are taxed 1200 euros per year? 600 road tax and 600 cause you got a 2.000cc... of course mine is still CA18det on papers... the difference is 300 per year, or 1200 per year... A few years back, they made 2.000cc cars tax free, and when everybody went and bought new cars, BAAM new taxes next year. now they're saying they are gonna put extra tax on economy cars and hybrids! i mean WTF, this country. seriously guys, come over for tourism, have fun, eat the food, soak some sun, but don't think of moving here.

never had the chance to practice properly, and frankly i pity my car too much to put it through the hardships of drifting. i'm always chasing mechanical gremlins since i bought it anyway...

most of the 200sx owners here do though. at the last meet i went, only me and one other guy were building street cars, to be all around reasonably comfortable, reliable and presentable. all the other guys talked about hydro e-brakes and rollcages.
