Okay so I know there's probably this topic on every forum everywhere but I'm looking into a rb26dett and of course I have questions for days like with the swap if you use an rb25 tranny with your rb26dett won't you lose power? And I've been reading that the 25 tranny is a strong on does that mean that the 26 will fail you even if you get the necessary adjustments made(26 tranny weak?)? For those of you that have done both is it worth the money and time? Is the more power that a 26 has even used? I don't mean track wise but street/daily/drifting/street racing. Is a 25/30 a better route? For those that have gone through the process is the 6spd needed? I can't think of anymore questions for now but thanks for the answers and help. if it matters I have a 98 s14

How the hell do you lose power by changing transmission? The engine makes whatever power it has, that is constant. You have drivetrain power lost, more wheels you have to spin, more power lost you get. So how would you lose power when you go AWD to RWD by going RB25? Think about that...
Get what the hell you can afford. Whats the point of going RB26 if you're only leaving it stock? RB25 transmissions are known to survive over 600hp. You can keep the GTR 6 speed but you would have to modify the engine and the tranny to get rid of the extra driveshaft/transfer case.
