Hey everyone, I need some help in regards to coolant leak in between engine and tranny.

I have a Blacktop SR20DET with 5spd tranny in my AE86. I finally got the car to start and for some reason, the coolant started leaking in between transmission and the rear of the engine at the bottom.

I did change out the rear main seal if this helps at all..... I know there are some coolant hose at the back of the engine but they all seems to be ok. where else could the leak come from? any potential leak in back of the engine other than hoses?

any help is much appreciated. thanks

coolant line for the turbo or heater hoses, check if there's any coolant in motor oil. if there's coolant in the motor oil then its head gasket

Yep. Probably that pesky turbo coolant return line. A friend of mine had a leak from there and it wasn't exactly fun to replace...

probably because you have about this much space (----------) between the back of the motor to the firewall.
