I can't tell if it is my clutch or brake pedal, but something randomly rattles at lower rpms, and I can feel my brake pedal feels a lot softer than it did, and it takes a lot further to push it to engage the brakes...
any idea whats going on?
info on the car:
s13 sr20det swapped zenki w/ new rotors/pads for brakes

Your clutch master is going out and its your clutch chattering because of inconsistant pressure dissengaging it, or its disconnected, and your clutch master is going out and your just hearing diff/trans noise like every other high mileage ka owner
That's my guess

Is it the clutch or brake master cylinder? Because my brakes feel like they are super hard to pump lately

bleed them and see what's up with the squishy feeling.
check and see if your clutch slave cylinder is leaking.

I'll have to find out how to do this and hopefully that will work.

brake fluid is EXTREMELY low... time to fill it and find the leak.
And where is the clutch slave cylinder?

And where is the clutch slave cylinder?
It's attached on the right side of the transmission... :ugh:

Brake fluid level is fine now, but I still do not have any resistance in the pedal... I have to push it to the floor to get the brakes to engage! any ideas?

bleed your brakes...
Please do that...
And if that doest work, its your master cylinder, if there are no leaks in the system...
