For some reason my car isnt getting power when I need to accelerate, It just makes a weird sputtering noise. And when I keep light throttle going down the road it makes the sputtering noise the whole time and its really annoying. Please help.

I put new plugs, cap and rotor, knock sensor, o2 sensor, battery, and seafoamed

This is a KA24DE Automatic

How old is the fuel filter?

AlexSR

No clue...Could the fuel filter be causing the problem? It only does it when on the throttle lightly, and it only accelerates like its supposed to when you mash on the gas hard.

P.S. TPS is good and within specs

leaky injector? loose/bad spark plug wire? Along with the sputtering, low power acceleration? sputter as in a misfire?

clean your ground wires

AlexSR

all ground wires are cleaned.

Sputtering when trying to accelerate, but it just accelerates slowly. and not as in misfiring..Sputtering as in a constant sputter/bogging noise..Like its choking itself out from power.

Injectors are brand new

I cleaned it and check the voltage and ground and it seemed to be good

P.S. There are no codes

Fuel Pump? Vacuum leak? I might lean towards a serious vacuum leak.

What was the last thing that happened with the car before it started doing this?

AlexSR

I put in a new starter, plugs, and filled the tank up with gas, and that's when it started happening :\

And I dont think it's a vacuum leak, wouldnt I be able to hear it?

You wouldnt necessarily hear a vacuum leak. What kind of spark plugs did you use?

I changed the crappy Bosch ones with Autolite Double Platinums

Think so swifty? My dad and grandpa said that same thing, but im not sure since it starts up perfect and revs fine in park and neutral.

Im thinking so! Had a similar problem i would gas it would kinda choke out. Change the fuel pump and it was back to normal.

Best thing to do is give it a shot not that hard to change the fuel pump its pretty easy!

Do you guys think it's maybe because the fuel pump suction strainer is clogged from debris due to using the seafoam?

Swifty

Possible
Is it an s14 or s13?

AlexSR

Its an S14, why?

Just wondering.
Give it a shot and check your fuel pump and filter!

same thing is happening to my kouki right now I cleaned he maf, new fuel filter, new plugs, but i got a code showing P0440 EVAP =( most of the people ive asked said a vac leak soo i gotta rip apart the whole intake mani nd inspect all the hoses nd what not this should be fun =( but my car only sputters bad when its hot as fuck outside but night only a little bit to none at all hmmmmmmm?

Mine does it all the time at steady light throttle, the only was to make it stop is to gun the damn thing..At least you have a code to lead you in a direction..

I had a code for a knock sensor, so I spent $80 on that and it got rid of the code but still drove like shit, then I got a code for o2 sensor afterwards, spend $20 on that and still ran like shit..Now i have no codes at all, and its still running like shit! lol

Sounds to me like an EGR problem, check the vac lines

ok, i'm sorry but i find it REALLY annoying when people say they don't have much cash to fix something, yet they don't diagnose it properly and just go out and buy shit. You probably wasted a good 100 dollars on useless stuff. buy some brake cleaner, 2 bottles. 6 bucks. then spray around the vacuum lines and intake manifold to check for a vacuum leak. try and find someone with a spare maf to replace yours to see if that is it. you say the injectors are brand new, did you maybe rip the ring putting them in? does it sputter when it's just idling in neutral? does it free rev?

AlexSR

It does it when DRIVING. Read before criticizing..and how am I going to check for vacuum leaks when it only does it when DRIVING. As in, IN GEAR, on THE ROAD.

And the injectors were replaced before this problem even occured. Free revs just fine.

Vacuum leaks when driving are still vacuum leaks when not driving.

You can still check for them. That's like saying you can't check if your wheel is loose because the clunking only happens when you're driving.

Obviously you don't know much about how this stuff works, so don't get pissed of when people offer advice.

probably is dying while under load. Needs more fuel output

but you can't diagnose a car for shit and buy stuff that isn't needed? i rest my case. please stfu, if you don't want people's opinions, fix it yourself with no help. apparently you're not as good as you think you are, or you'd listen, not bitch.

you said you changed spark plugs, was that right before the problem started or after because my friend had this problem and it was because they gave him some shitty plugs that didnt work for his car. he put back the old ones and it was fine again
