i have a 89' 240sx and I have the money to
do a motorswap but people keep telling me
that because i have a 89 the ca18 would be
easier to put in why is that and why would
i put that in the car when i can have the
twin cam sr put isn't the sr20det a better motor
or is the single cam ca18et motor whats the
best bang for the buck?

your mom.
try the search.

no one swaps a ca18et, those are from the late 200sx. its ca18det and its dohc.
as for which is better thats up to you.
Also, try these things called PERIODS and COMMAS.

It's simple SR20DET. No replacement for displacement and the SR has a better aftermarket when compared to ca.

if there is no replacement for displacement, y did u get a puny sr20? i would have opted for the 5.7 liter chevy V8 or better yet, viper V-10. dont give a stupid reason like that, the ca18 can make HP numbers just like the sr20, granted parts are easier to find for the sr, its no more capable than the ca18, also the ca18 is a square motor and revs higher and easier than the over square sr20. the ca18 also has a better valve train than the sr20. the ca18 and RB series motors are very alike also, the main diference being they have 2 more cylinders, but it just goes to show how good the design is.

omg... that engine is a monster. its like one of those squiddies u see in the matrix.

ICUSTRN, if you don't even know the pros and cons of each engine, or even what engine goes in what car, what makes you think you're ready to do any kind of engine swap? please go back and learn more about your car... there's more to tuning then just paying out lots of money so other people can do the work for you.

edit: no replacement for displacement? then he should stick with the 2.4 liter ka... lol.

aftermarket rods, cams, valvesprings/retainers, and solid lifters will see a CA revving up to 9000 RPM.
There are some nice videos of dynos and stuff floating around, I don't think I've heard a better sounding four cylinder than a CA with a big turbo coming onto boost and winding it out to 9k.

I have a greddy 2mm metal headgasket for ca18det too. someone buy it.
